The Scouts are always a major presence at religious festivities in Nazareth, with marching bands filling the streets with noise. The Orthodox troop plays bag pipes, a legacy possibly of British rule during the Mandate and Nazareth’s historic connection to the Edinburgh Medical Trust, which runs the local Scottish Hospital. Here the Muslim troop perform in front of the White Mosque. (February 2003)
