The
man standing here at Yitzhar checkpoint is a taxi driver who cannot go
anywhere because both his ID and his driving licence have been confiscated
-- in violation of Israeli military laws -- by a soldier. He does not know
where the soldier has disappeared to. Later in the day, after Machsom
Watch intervenes, he receives a 500 shekel fine (about $120) for a traffic
violation, or more than a month’s salary, to be paid to the military
regime.
