Facility
1391, a secret prison run by Israel’s military intelligence for the
torture of foreign Arab nationals. Its existence only came to light after
lawyers issued habeas corpus writs for Palestinian clients who had
disappeared
while being detained there during the mass round-ups of 2002.
Facility 1391, between Hadera and Umm al-Fahm, has never been visited by
the Red Cross – unlike the American prison in Guantanamo Bay. (November
